Romperland consultants are experts at helping you create
the best possible play experience for your children
while maximizing the ‘play value’ within
your budget.
Some initial considerations are:
• Determining Your Budget
• Size & Location of Your Site
• Ages of Children using the Playground
• Accessibility
2. Designing your playground
Romperland includes active, social and imaginative
play opportunities in each design. All of our playsystems
offer opportunities for climbing, sliding, hanging,
traversing, socializing, competing and make-believe
play. We are proud to provide components that are accessible
to children of all abilities.
Safety is our greatest
concern. We ensure compliance to all current safety
standards, confirmed by IPEMA certification. See www.ipema.org
for a list of certified products.
Other design considerations include:
color
We have developed a number of standard color combinations
to make your choice easier. By using a combination of
available steel powdercoat and plastic colors, you can
create a color scheme that complements any environment.
surfacing
Playground surfacing is one of the most important safety
considerations. You can choose cost effective loose
fill products such as non-compacting sand or pea gravel.
For accessibility, consider engineered wood fiber. Rubber
safety tiles or poured-in-place surfaces are also excellent
for accessibility - without mess and maintenance. The
depth of surfacing required will depend on type used
and maximum fall height.
accessories
Enhance your playground by adding independent play items
or site amenities.
3. Installing your playground
equipment
How will your playground equipment be installed?
• Save dollars and install your equipment using
community labor and Romperland's comprehensive instructional
package.
• Hire a Romperland professional to supervise
your volunteers, ensuring your equipment is installed
properly.
• Hire a Romperland professional to fully install
your equipment quickly and efficiently.
You can choose to have your playground equipment installed
inground (with concrete) or freestanding. Freestanding
units are easy to relocate and can help reduce installation
problems caused by difficult ground conditions. Installation
time is also reduced with a freestanding structure.
4. Maintaining
your playground equipment
